East of the rift valley is located on the windward side of the Central Highlands. It is characterized by 1,500-2,300 meters above sea level, red volcanic soil, rainfall of 1,400 mm distributed throughout the year and cool temperatures ideal for slow leaf growth enhancing flavour concentration.
It is predominantly cultivated by small-scale farmers who practice efficient farming husbandry. Farmers are able to deliver green tea leaves to KTDA managed factories ensuring consistent quality and international export standard.
This tea is known for bright liquor with a strong briskness, fresh floral & citrusy notes, smooth body with a hint of astringency and golden tips that enhances the cup’s visual appeal & quality. It is also ideal for premium orthodox tea and specialty blends.
